Venue

The 6th EVSSAR Annual Symposium will be held at the University of Environmental and Life Sciences in Wroclaw, on June 6th, 2009. The Symposium is being hosted by the Department of Reproduction, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in Wroclaw.

The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine is one of four Polish Veterinary High Education Schools. It continues the tradition of the School of Veterinary Medicine in Lvov - now Ukraine (1881-1939). Officially, its activities started on 1 November, 1945, when it was the largest Faculty of the University and Polytechnic in Wrocław after II World War. At present, the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine consists of 9 departments and employs 98 academic teachers, including 29 professors and doctors with habilitation (a post-doctoral degree).

The university is located near the Center of the town. The Sessions of the Symposium will take place in the Congress Centre of Wroclaw University of Environmental and Life Sciences, pl. Grunwaldzki 24, 50–363 Wroclaw.

The reception will be opened since 5.06.2009 2.00 PM. The Welcome Party will start at 7.00 PM on 5.06.2009 in the Hall of Congress Centre.

The EVSSAR Member Annual Meeting will be held in the Congress Centre on June 6th, 2009 at 4.20-5.00 PM.

Sessions

The 6th EVSSAR Annual Symposium will consist of two parallel Sessions and Plenary Session:

Session 1. Small Animal Reproduction in Every-Day Practice

Session 2 (parallel). Research in Small Animal Reproduction

Session 3. Plenary Session – Reproduction in Cats and Ferrets.

Session 1 will consist of only lectures of invites International Speakers. The topics were chosen to be interesting especially for veterinary practitioners. This Session is divided into 2 parts: 

-         Imaging and Assisted Reproductive Techniques in Small Animal Reproduction (two lectures)

-         Medical and Surgical Control of Reproduction in Small Animals (two lectures)

The Session 2 – Research in Small Animal Reproduction will consist of two parts - Clinical advances (8 oral short communications) and Biotechnological advances with lecture ‘Epigenetic programming in the preimplantation embryo’ Prof. Alfonso Gutierrez-Adan and with 5 short communications 

Topics of the Session 2 – Research in Small Animal Reproduction include gamete biology, IVM, IVF, cryopreservation of gametes and embryos, medical and surgical control of estrous cycle, AI, other ART, imaging of reproductive organs, physiology and endocrinology of ovarian cycles, pregnancy, male genital tract, mammary, female and male reproductive disorders.

The Plenary Session – Reproduction in Cats and Ferrets consists of two lectures.

Preliminary Schedule of Short Communications and Posters will be published on this website before Symposium. Short Communications (10 min + 5 min discussion) will be presented on Session 2.

Poster Session will take place on Coffee Break June 6th 2009, 10.40-11.00 AM in the Main Hall of Congress Centre.

Registration and Reduced-Fee Early Registration

Registration Form. You may complete the pdf version of Registration Form downloaded from this website. You should fax it to Organization Committee. The fax number is written on the Registration Form.

Attendance is by pre-registration and payment of the registration fee. On site payment will be available.

Registration (booking) Office will be at the Main Hall of the Congress Centre near the main entrance. It will be opened on June 5th 2009, 2.00PM.

Language

The official language of the Symposium is English language. Simultaneous translation into Polish language of the lectures (Session 1 and Plenary Session) will be provided.

Symposium Proceedings Volume

The full set of all abstracts of all lectures, reports and posters will be printed as a book available to all delegates at the meeting.

The Symposium Proceedings Books will be printed in the limited edition related on the number of delegates.

Accommodations

There are many hotels in the centre of the Wroclaw. Those hotels allow for easy visiting of the city centre and easy transportation to University. Delegates are responsible for making their own hotel arrangements. Delegates will find the blocks of rooms that have been booked by Organization Committee at reduced prizes. Please use password ‘EVSSAR’ when You book the hotel. It will allow to use lower price negotiated by Organization Committee.

Gala Dinner

Gala Dinner will take place in a beautiful and charming Inspiracja Restaurant placed in antique building of Old Stock Exchange. During Gala Dinner participants will have possibility to enjoy artistic performance, try traditional polish food and relax during listening and dancing to light music. We kindly invite all participants to wear evening dress.
